Welcome

I created this blog to celebrate my love of the painted surface and to show the work of Colour + Surface my decorative painting company established in 1995. I am passionate about traditional techniques and materials like fresco and earth pigments, and I am constantly combining mediums in the studio to develop contemporary looks. I find inspiration in wonderful tactile things: elm bark, seashells, vintage textile designs, Scandinavian painted furniture, and paintings by Morandi and Bonnard, to name a few! I have had the opportunity to work with some very talented interior designers and dedicated homeowners over the years, and I love to see how different components come together to bring a room to life. I never tire of working with the transformative power of color. I hope you find some inspiration and design ideas here.
